Dacia Sandero and Dacia Logan, recalled over a fault in the bonnet latch
Dacia Spain has already begun contacting the owners of the affected Dacia Sandero and Dacia Logan vehicles as part of this recall.

Do you own a Dacia Sandero or a Dacia Logan? Pay attention, because this will interest you. These two models are subject to a recall due to a defect affecting the bonnet locking system. This fault could cause the bonnet of these models to open while the vehicle is being driven. The recall has already been published by the Directorate General of the Spanish Ministry of Consumer Affairs. The affected Dacia Sandero and Dacia Logan are those of the third generation that came onto the market during 2020.
As published by a specialist recall source, Car-Recalls.eu, this possible fault may affect around 24,950 units worldwide. Everything points to the affected units being those produced between September 2020 and January 2021, although the number of units that may be affected in Spain is unknown.

A fault in the bonnet locking system
The Dacia Sanderos that will be recalled in the coming days are those manufactured between 2 September 2020 and 15 January 2021 at the Pitesti plant in Romania or in Tangier. However, the Dacia Logans that may have this fault are those manufactured at the Pitesti plant in Romania between 5 November and 23 December 2020.
As stated in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs publication, the brand belonging to the Renault Group “has detected a defect in the eye bolt or washer of the bonnet latch which, in an extreme case, could break and cause the bonnet to open while driving”. In the worst case, this means the bonnet cover could strike the windscreen and cause the driver to lose visibility.

As this is a recall, Dacia Spain has already begun contacting the owners of the affected units so they can take them to the workshop. There, it will be checked whether the latch washer has the defect and, if so, it will be replaced as soon as possible. This workshop visit is completely free of charge and takes approximately four hours.
