Brabus unleashes all the pent-up fury of the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ Coupe
If the Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ Coupé is already a true beast in its own right, your perception will change once you see what Brabus has managed to do with it

Mercedes-AMG kicked off 2020 by presenting the most extreme version of its SUVs, the GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ in coupé bodywork. Like the more toned-down version (without the “S”), it broke with tradition by abandoning the conventional V8 engine and pairing it instead with what Mercedes calls mild-hybrid or EQ Boost technology. This reduces consumption without sacrificing sportiness and power, although at Brabus they feel it is not enough.
The Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ Coupé comes standard with a 4,000 cc V8 block that produces 612 CV and a torque figure of 850 Nm. To this must be added the 22 CV supplied by the alternator/generator of its EQ Boost technology, which delivers its output instantly. Paired with this engine is a 9-speed AMG Speedshift TCT transmission, which can send power to all four wheels through the AMG Performance 4 MATIC+ system, featuring fully variable torque distribution and an electronically controlled self-locking differential on the rear axle.

But Brabus knows the potential of the GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ Coupé, and for it they have developed a series of modifications delivered through the Brabus PowerXtra control unit and new turbos with higher compression, which raise output to a staggering 789 CV and torque to 1,000 Nm. This allows it to accelerate to 100 km/h in an impressive 3.4 seconds and reach a limited top speed of 280 km/h. Still, for anyone who considers this power excessive, Brabus can apply updates to the control unit to deliver a power increase of 87 CV over the standard figure.

Such a display of power calls for exterior design to match its sportiness, so Brabus has created an aerodynamic kit in which carbon fibre plays a major role, as you can see, featuring on elements such as the front grille, the front and rear bumper trim, the front splitter and the rear spoiler, among others. Add to this the 23-inch forged aluminium wheels, the suspension lowered by 25 mm and the sport exhaust line that ends in two double outlets.

Finally, the interior is also modified, though less aggressively. Fine leather and Alcántara are used for the upholstery, which can be chosen in any colour the customer wishes, accompanied by various accessories such as aluminium pedals or new gear-shift paddles.
