Donald Trump's new presidential car, more Beast than ever

We already know that the car of the US presidents is not just any armoured car. It is no coincidence that they are called The Beast, because they look more like a tank than a car for getting around the city. Aboard The Beast, US presidents can feel as safe as if they were in a bunker, and since several years had passed since the presidential limousines were last updated, Donald Trump has just unveiled the new version.

It was spotted in New York, where the president is staying these days, and New Yorkers saw two of these imposing armoured limousines driving through the streets of Manhattan. The last model of this car was launched in 2009, so an update was due. We have already talked about the car used by President Obama, and now it is time to talk about this new version.

Few details about the new “Beast”

Of course, there is not much information about the car, because the Secret Service takes security very seriously and the features of the Cadillac that serves as the official vehicle have not been made public. We do know, however, that its appearance has changed slightly. To start with, the front grille takes on a more traditional look, as do the headlights.

The Secret Service jealously guards the data on the features of The Beast”Inside, it is equipped with all the technology needed to ensure the safety of its seven occupants. In the rear, the president and four companions can sit comfortably, protected by the armour plating and the air filtration systems and other safety features.

Trump’s new presidential car appears to be based on the Cadillac CT6, but it is actually built on a new, more robust and solid platform. This is only natural, because the car weighs between 6,000 and 9,500 kilograms. The engine is designed to move this giant, although high speeds should not be expected from the presidential car. The contract between the US government and General Motors has a budget of 15.9 million dollars, and a total of 12 units will be manufactured to meet all the Secret Service’s needs.
