Electrification also reaches the motorcycles of Honda with the new WN7
Honda states that the electrification of its motorcycle range is a fundamental pillar of its commercial strategy looking to the future.
Honda does not want to be left behind in the transition towards electric mobility, which is why it has just announced the launch of its first high-performance electric motorcycle for the European market. The new WN7 is a so-called “naked” motorcycle that promises to revolutionise the segment it belongs to.
With a base price that will be around 15,000 euros in the European market, this motorcycle will go on sale officially on 4 November. Although reservations are already open for those who want to be the first to enjoy it.

Designed to deliver great emotions, the WN7 is fitted with a fixed lithium-ion battery that allows it to offer a range of more than 130 kilometres per charge. Although Honda has not yet revealed the maximum power it supports when recharging with direct current, it has confirmed compatibility with the CCS standard, and asserts that it is possible to increase the state of charge from 20 to 80 per cent in less than half an hour.
Likewise, with alternating current using a wallbox, three hours are enough to complete a full charge, which makes it an alternative to seriously consider for the daily commutes of any two-wheel enthusiast.
What’s yours?
The WN7 will be available in Europe in two versions adapted to European licences. The more powerful one, for holders of the A2 licence, is fitted with an 18 kWh battery and delivers up to 50 kW of maximum power, with torque reaching 100 Nm. On the other hand, Honda will also offer a lower-powered version for its European customers with an A1 licence, which also reduces the battery capacity to 11 kWh. In any case, it should be noted that both versions will reach maximum speeds above 110 km/h, positioning themselves in terms of power on a par with motorcycles with combustion engines of at least 600 cc and surpassing them in terms of torque.
As regards its design, the futuristic and streamlined styling of the new Honda WN7 highlights its electric spirit, with clean lines that evoke a sense of freedom. The name WN7 is not, moreover, a coincidence. The “W” alludes to the concept of “Be the Wind“, symbolising fluidity and dynamism. The “N” represents the naked style and the “7” indicates its power category.

Among the equipment it includes, its 5-inch TFT screen stands out, connected to the Honda RoadSync app for smartphones, together with its daytime LED lighting for greater safety. With a kerb weight of just 217 kg, the WN7 is also a fairly light motorcycle, which makes it easier to handle.
Honda states that this new motorcycle condenses more than 75 years of innovation in the world of two wheels, offering a silent and smooth ride, different from the traditional roar, yet also capable of generating the same adrenaline as a conventional motorcycle on open roads.
