Fiat and Repsol sign agreement to promote the use of autogas in Spain

The question of why the use of gas for automotive purposes has not spread further in Spain may have countless answers, ranging from the interests of certain groups to a lack of infrastructure. The reality is that while in Italy the number of vehicles using it as fuel reaches 500,000, here in Spain we barely have around 11,000 units running on gas.
One of the brands that has always been most interested in getting autogas off the ground in Spain is Fiat. And that is understandable, since they have several models on offer, if we count the variants of the 500, Panda, Punto and Bravo, plus some Alfa Romeo and the Lancia that are coming. That is why the Italian brand has teamed up with Repsol to promote this fuel a little more.
The agreement was signed by the CEO of Grupo Fiat Spain and the Executive Director of LPG at Repsol. This alliance aims to launch a stage of collaboration to continue developing and encouraging the introduction and expansion of the sale of LPG vehicles. The oil company currently has more than 150 service stations supplying gas and plans to open another 100 new ones each year, until 2015.
So if you are thinking of buying a car from Grupo Fiat or other brands that use autogas as fuel, there will be new refueling points. But even more important is that this type of vehicle will be considered for the Plan PIVE… if they decide to extend it.
