Focus Ford range update for 2010

focus-sound.jpgWith the arrival of the new year, Ford has taken the opportunity to modify and update the equipment and versions of its flagship model, the Ford Focus. It also introduces a new version, the Ford Focus Sound, a basic car with a superior finish and well equipped at an affordable price.

The 2010 Focus range starts with the Focus Trend, which can be fitted with up to eight different engines, from the 1.6 TDCi with 90 CV to the 2.0 Duratec with 145 CV, in four body styles: Coupé, Sedán, Berlina and Sportbreak. Add to this the options with automatic gearbox, all of them with the 1.6 Duratec petrol engine with 100 CV, except for the Sportbreak Trend, which can also opt for the 2.0 TDCi with 136 CV. From the Trend trim several models emerge: the Sound, which we will discuss below, the SportBreak X and the Latvala and Hirvonen for motorsport enthusiasts. At the top of the range sit, as always, the Focus ST and the Focus RS with their 305 CV of power.

The Sound in question is equipped with the Trend pack but adds three options: Kinetic 16″ (16″ alloy wheels, centre console and sports seats), or the Sport 17″ or 18″, both with 17″ or 18″ alloy wheels of your choice, but always with sport suspension, centre console, sports seats and a long rear spoiler in body colour. It also has other extras such as parking sensor, privacy blinds or aluminium roof bars. The superior Titanium Sound trim includes the visibility pack (automatic headlight activation, rain sensor and auto-dimming mirror) and extras such as cruise control, dual-zone air conditioning, push-button start Ford Power and a few more.

The Sportbreak is born with the off-road vocation and styling classic in some small models, such as the Polo or the Golf. It adds side and front protections to prevent damage from use, special mud and snow tyres and increases ground clearance by 20 mm, which gives it more capability in compromising situations. Although it is really more about looks than anything else, many people enjoy taking their cars onto dirt tracks, and if these are not in too bad a condition, this type of off-road vehicle is a good solution.
