Ford and its 100% electric SUV based on the Mustang could be hinting at themselves in this video
Ford has shared a video about its future but, within it, we can glimpse what appears to be the 100% electric SUV based on the Mustang that will arrive soon

The electric sector is already considered a reality in our market, as manufacturers demonstrate with their countless bets on this type of drivetrain. Among them is Ford, a brand that recently showed us its clear intentions to revolutionise the van segment with its WORK XL based on the Transit, but now it seems they have once again gone all in on red. The oval brand has shared with us a short video about the brand’s future and electric mobility but, between clips of the short film, we can notice the presence of a vehicle driven by the iconic Mustang horse. But what is it?
Not long ago, Ford confirmed its clear intention to build a 100% electric SUV based on the acclaimed muscle car, and everything points to this intense appearance possibly starring that model. In this way, the American brand shows us that the pace of its electrification could be much faster than we imagined.
Ford stated a month ago that it would not be until two years from now that we would see this SUV, which takes the Mustang as its source of inspiration, but this does not mean the company has not started work on its creation. The brand’s engineers have already picked up their chisel and hammer to sculpt this model, which will be presented in our market as a combination of sportiness, comfort and efficiency, with the aim of offering an innovative package that is also revolutionary.

The American brand has also taken the opportunity to show us the clear progress it has made over the years and how it sees its more immediate future. It is at this point that we can perceive an imposing front end with an innovative design, made up of more modern components accompanied by a backlit horse in blue, a hue generally associated with 100% electric vehicles.
We do not yet have any official statement from the company, but we can confirm that the presence of this vehicle in the video from Ford is no coincidence. As the brand previewed, it will not be until 2020 that we meet this supposed SUV but, in the meantime, other current members of the model range could experience hybridisation or even electrification.

Either way, Ford is already taking its first steps into this era, which seeks to keep the brand’s American spirit intact but combined with features and elements typical of the vehicles of tomorrow. Little by little we will get to know this future offspring of the oval brand, which promises to offer entirely new technology while combining it with the characteristics of a classic muscle car.
