The Ford Focus Electric goes on sale in dribs and drabs at the end of the year in the US

The Focus Electric will be the next electric model with which Ford plans to take on Nissan with the Leaf and, of course, GM with the Volt. The planned date for dealerships in the US is the end of the year, although it won’t be available to everyone.
Those customers who were eager to get their hands on the Focus Electric but who don’t live in California or New York will have to wait quite a bit longer (including delivery time), since a larger-scale launch will take place in spring 2012 of this electric car.
And even then it won’t be available to everyone. The second launch phase covers only 19 cities or towns in the US, so those who can’t travel to buy one will have to wait even longer.
Let’s remember that in 2012 the Focus EV will also arrive in Europe and, in principle, will be a model similar to the one sold in North America. The date of arrival in Spain has not yet been announced by Ford.
