The advertising campaign for the Ford Focus ST has begun, with Ken Block, Vaughn Gittin Jr. and the Focus ST and Volkswagen Golf GTI as the stars. Will we see a response from Volkswagen?

Ford has launched a major advertising campaign around the Focus ST, and one of the first videos to be revealed is this one, where Ken Block gets out of the rally Fiesta and into a blue Focus ST. But this time it wasn’t enough to have Ken Block juggling drifting and extreme manoeuvres; they have also found a challenger.

The Volkswagen Golf VII GTI driven by the 2010 drifting champion, Vaughn Gittin Jr, has been chosen as the guest of honour for the Focus ST in this advert, which, as expected, leaves the Golf eating dust in every manoeuvre. And it’s not that the advert is shocking, since they clearly can’t go too fast inside an “abandoned neighbourhood”, but rather it opens the interesting opportunity for us to see a video response worthy of Volkswagen, in the form of another advert favourable to the German car, as a reply to this one, which you can watch if you follow the jump.
