Ford Galaxy 2016, new generation loaded with technology

Ford has announced the launch of a new generation of the Galaxy, its largest MPV on sale in Europe.
This is a complete overhaul that brings an update to both the exterior design and the cabin, also substantially improving its technological equipment.
On the outside, the Galaxy benefits from a design that combines the qualities of a large MPV -straight lines, generous spaces- with the family traits that make any Ford recognisable, such as a front with a trapezoidal grille or elongated headlights, similar to those fitted to models such as the Focus or the S-Max.

The Galaxy is a classic-style MPV, in which space and practicality take priority over other qualities. That is why the rear remains squared off, with a large tailgate that, in this new generation, blends glass with metal to improve its look and perceived quality.
Inside, we find an atmosphere remarkably similar to that of the S-Max, which was also renewed very recently. Ford has made a strong commitment to this pair of MPVs, offering a dashboard with a very pleasant design and a very high level of quality. Leather and aluminium play an increasingly prominent role, while a large central touchscreen controls most of the vehicle’s comfort and entertainment systems.

Of course, the Galaxy’s cabin offers enough room to accommodate 7 passengers, who will also enjoy all kinds of storage spaces throughout the interior. Ford has also improved the entry and exit of third-row occupants, as well as the seat folding/unfolding systems.
Mechanically, the Galaxy debuts the new TDCi diesel and Ecoboost petrol engines that have been bringing so much success to the American company. In diesel, the big news is the 2.0 TDCi biturbo, which delivers 210 CV and 450 Nm, while in petrol the highlights are the new 1.5 Ecoboost 160 CV and the all-powerful 2.0 Ecoboost 240 CV.

The Galaxy’s technology equipment increases exponentially in this new generation with the addition of anti-sway systems, intelligent electronic speed limiter, adaptive cruise control, city anti-collision system, lane change warning or cross-traffic alert, among others.
