Ford launches a teaser of what could be its new Pick-up

The oval brand has launched a 10-second teaser that reveals some lines of what could be its future compact pick-up

Ford launches a teaser of what could be its new Pick-up. The preview takes the form of a video lasting ten seconds, in which it can be seen that the oval brand could be working on a compact and boxy pick-up truck, which has caused quite a stir on social media.

The details about the mysterious and new pick-up from Ford are almost non-existent at this point, and all we can deduce from the video is that it will be compact, striking and much smaller than other pick-ups from the brand such as the Ford Ranger or the Ford F-150.

Teaser Pickup

A strange theory suggests that this may not be a real vehicle after all, and that is because, at the end of the video, the narrator says “coming soon to a keyboard near you”. Some Twitter users claim that this indicates that Ford simply has a design for creating a new pick-up truck-shaped emoji, taking advantage of the fact that today is World Emoji Day. This possible Ford emoji could be implemented as part of the Apple iOS 13 software.

While that is an interesting option, the images at the start of Ford’s new teaser show a series of sketches that form part of the design of the new Ford pick-up and even show a woman working on what appears to be a full-size clay model. Going to so much effort for an emoji really doesn’t make much sense.

Are we looking at Ford’s new pick-up?

If we take Twitter as a source, Mike Levine, product communications manager for Ford North America, has offered some more details about the vehicle.

“Some super cool truck news is coming this week. We’re going to satisfy a big unmet need,” reads the first tweet. The second says that “all this speculation about truck needs this week. If you like small trucks, you won’t be disappointed.” Meanwhile, Levine’s latest tweet states that, for the moment, no spy photos of the future Ford pick-up have been taken.

Everything is rather mysterious, and the teaser video presented by the oval brand doesn’t even mention a possible launch, but let’s hope we won’t have to wait too long to see what Ford has up its sleeve. We can’t wait!

World Emoji Day

If the Twitter prophecies come true and it turns out to be an emoji, it wouldn’t be the only brand putting all its effort into creating new emojis that become part of the everyday life of many users through instant messaging apps, social networks, and so on.

Audi Emoji 1

Audi has just unveiled what the brand calls the electric car emoji. It shows a vehicle connected to a charging station. The brand with the four rings wanted to go further and pay tribute to its first fully electric car, the Audi e-tron. The future emoticon for Audi even has its own name; it is called Audi e-moji and it is packed with detail.
