Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, the Predator goes through Hennessey's hands
The Texas tuner has worked on the engine of the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, known as the Predator, to turn it into the Venom, with more than 1,000 CV.

The Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is named Predator. It is a formidable car that lets drivers enjoy a unique driving experience. Performance that translates into a power output of 760 CV and a peak torque of 850 Nm thanks to the supercharged 5.2-litre engine. The power offered by this high-performance model from Ford is not far from what a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ delivers, so it is no small thing.
But even that considerable power is not enough for the tuners at Hennessey, who wanted to give the car a different touch. So they worked on the engine to make that power even greater. To achieve this, they modified the engine by adding some extra parts and replacing others with more attractive versions that improve performance. The result is an engine that reaches 1,000 CV and a peak torque of 1,152 Nm.

To reach those figures, the Mustang Shelby GT500 has to run on E85 fuel, but that does not matter. The Predator has been reinvented and has become a full-fledged supercar now called the Venom. That power is not something to be taken lightly, so the dual-clutch gearbox it features has also had to be reinforced, to keep the power it produces under control.
The video shows how the Mustang Shelby GT500 modified by Hennessey moves with ease around the track the company has in Texas. What the images show is the acceleration rate, which is normally found only in the most intense supercars on the market and which lets the driver enjoy an exciting track experience.
That said, to drive on the road, this version can be well beyond what most Shelby drivers require. Is it only for enjoying on the track? Well, it will probably be the only place where you can access all the power hidden under the bonnet, but who could refuse to drive the Venom day to day?
