Ford sets the new "good time" challenge at the Nürburgring with the Mustang's 900 CV
The Ford Mustang RTR Drift was put to the test by Gittin Jr at the Nürburgring to beat the “good time” record, that is, to drift and enjoy it to the fullest

Whether or not you’re a motorsport fan, you’ve heard of the “Green Hell”, the Nordschleife or northern loop of the Nürburgring circuit, where enthusiasts can get behind the wheel of their own cars to take part in a open track driving session and fully enjoy the dynamic capabilities their car has to offer.
The Nordschleife at the Nürburgring is just over 7 km of bends and chicanes of every kind, where car manufacturers also put their new models through tough testing before launching them on the market, and where, in addition, the most performance-oriented models in their various ranges compete to see who sets the fastest lap within their category.

Challenges and fun that take on a new dimension when hands as skilled as those of Vaughn Gittin Jr take the wheel of the Ford Mustang to unleash all its horsepower, 900 CV, and let it run as it truly deserves over the asphalt of the Nürburgring.
On a circuit as demanding as the German one, good old Vaughn had no better idea than to set a fast lap the way only he knows how, sliding from side to side through every single corner of the circuit and, as if that weren’t enough, along the straights too. In a display of control and drifting few can match, Gittin Jr, at the wheel of the Ford Mustang RTR Drift with the Ford Performance 5.0 Aluminator XS engine producing 900 CV, specially developed by the performance division of the oval-badged brand, has set a new challenge and a new record at the Nordschleife: the “Good Time” record.

“The aim was,” says Vaughn Gittin Jr, “to have a good time, not to beat the fast lap record.” A statement that contrasts with the speeds in excess of 240 km/h that Gittin Jr reached in the Mustang during his spectacular lap of the Nürburgring, during which he destroyed up to three sets of tyres.
Gittin Jr’s spectacular driving at the Nürburgring is evident in the video, where it can be seen that for much of the lap, especially while he was completely sideways entering some of the special bends scattered around the circuit.
With the drone struggling to keep up, the video of this experience shows Gittin Jr’s tremendous ability to control his car in the most difficult situations. Turn the sound up, boost the bass on the equaliser, expand the image to the edges of the screen and enjoy.
