Ford Transit Custom Sport, the most powerful commercial vehicle for enjoying the job

Commercial vehicles, although they don’t have as much glamour as city cars, are an important part of manufacturers’ offerings, and that is why they also work to provide users with all the technology and functionality they need to use these vehicles to their full capabilities. Ford offers the Ford Transit and the Ford Transit Sport variant, which it has just equipped with the most powerful engine it has ever offered.

There are three variants of the Ford Transit Sport range, which deliver the performance each user needs for their daily work. In the case of the most powerful version of the Ford Transit Sport range, we are talking about the Ford Transit Custom Sport. This version debuts the 2.0-litre EcoBlue engine, which delivers a power output of 185 CV.

This engine features an improved high-pressure fuel injection system, a low-friction architecture and a revised low-inertia turbocharger design that helps deliver greater power across a wider rev range. In terms of transmission, this model comes with a six-speed manual gearbox or, optionally, a six-speed automatic gearbox.

The model offers a consumption of 6.9 litres per 100 kilometres and emissions of 151 g/km, which are very modest figures for this type of engine and this type of vehicle. The bodykit fitted to this version is designed to attract attention, with decorative elements and 17-inch alloy wheels. The Ford Transit Custom Sport is available in three chassis versions: van, combi and double cab.

It also features a long wheelbase and a short wheelbase, and comes with all the technology usual in Ford models, including advanced driver assistance systems. In terms of connectivity, it comes with the FordPass Connect modem, which allows up to ten devices to connect.

Ford Transit Connect Sport and Ford Transit Courier Sport

Alongside the top-of-the-range model there are two further variants. The Ford Transit Connect Sport features specific styling and 16-inch alloy wheels. It is equipped with a 1.5-litre diesel engine producing 120 CV. It also comes with the FordPass Connect modem and driver assistance technology.

Finally there is the Ford Transit Courier Sport, designed for urban goods transport. Although it has less technology included as standard equipment, it is the version designed for urban delivery, so its dimensions are compact and its power output has also been reduced. It features a 1.5-litre TDCi engine producing 100 CV, combined with a six-speed manual gearbox, as well as a 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine with the same 100 CV.

Users of the Ford Transit Sport can combine the practicality of this commercial vehicle with the sporting spirit that is not lacking in a model designed more for work than for leisure.
