Frankfurt Show: The new Audi S6, S7 and S8 are on their way

The Frankfurt Show also brings plenty of news for Audi, which will present the new S6, S7 and S8 and their downsized twin-turbo V8 engines, which place fuel consumption and performance front and centre as the main stars of these models.
The Audi S6 leaves the V10 behind to settle into the realm of the four-litre V8, though with twin turbos. And it is not only the two fewer cylinders that contribute to a saving estimated at 25% in fuel, but also the incorporation of the Start/Stop system and the cylinder deactivation system, which shuts down four of the V8’s cylinders when driving without needing too much torque or power.
The S7 is a little more relaxed, as it is a saloon, though one of high performance and beautifully designed. The S7 is set to use the same engine as the S6, with Quattro all-wheel drive and a seven-speed S-Tronic gearbox, as well as the new air suspension that raises or lowers the bodywork, which will also appear on the S6. The S7 is a large saloon, with a generous bonnet and a boot with a capacity of 535 litres.
The largest of the family, the S8, will proudly carry the banner of the A8, although it will not feature the twin-turbo V10 engine that was expected. The S8 also gets the four-litre twin-turbo V8, with 520 hp and an eight-speed Tiptronic gearbox, with the same cylinder deactivation systems as its S6 and S7 siblings.
