Goodbye, Audi TT: the German sports car bows out with the TTS Competition Plus and Bronze Selection versions

Goodbye, Audi TT. The legendary German sports car is saying farewell with two special editions named TTS Competition Plus and Bronze Selection.

There are days when you’re celebrating the arrival of spectacular vehicles destined to go down in the annals of history, like the Toyota GR Yaris, and there are days when you have to dig out your mourning finery. So it is, dear petrolheads, the farewell to the Audi TT is very near. The four-ring brand has already made it perfectly clear that there is no future for its most iconic sports car, at least not as we know it.

Fortunately, Audi is aware that the Audi TT has managed to make a before-and-after mark, a compelling reason to send it off in grand style. With this premise, the German firm has conceived what are known as the TTS Competition Plus and Bronze Selection, two special editions that put the final full stop on the TT.

In this way, we find a Audi TTS Competition Plus dressed in a spicier, more rebellious look. To achieve this, the German sports car wears 20-inch wheels, black detailing, red brake calipers and a fixed rear spoiler. However, the true high point of this variant lies in its mechanical section, where it takes the opportunity to show its final culmination before becoming part of the brand’s history.

Under the skin we still find the well-known 2.0 TFSI, a four-cylinder turbo engine that receives a tweak for this version. This translates into 320 CV and 400 Nm of torque, figures that are handled by an S tronic dual-clutch automatic gearbox with seven ratios and the well-known quattro all-wheel drive.

On the other hand, the Audi TT Bronze Selection is available across the whole TFSI range except the TT RS. This special trim exclusively modifies the styling, offering us such curious elements as 20-inch wheels, interior inserts, contrast stitching on the upholstery, and the four-ring logo sticker beside the rear wheel arch in bronze colour. This shade can be paired with three colours: Chronos Grey, Glacier White and Mythos Black.

For now, Audi has only announced prices for these two versions of the Audi TT in Germany, where they have a starting price of 61,000 euros and 63,700 euros for the TTS and TTS Roadster Competition Plus. The Bronze Selection package, meanwhile, entails an outlay of 6,190 euros for the TT and 4,490 for the TTS.
