Hennessey Goliath 650, the wildest preparation of the GMC Sierra 1500

The Hennessey engineers have worked on the GMC Sierra and created a pick-up that is more radical, with greater visual impact and power than the original model

American full-size pick-ups are quite impressive on their own. But when a tuner like Hennessey gets to work to give them an even more complete finish, they become quite impressive beasts. The Hennessey Goliath 650 is based on the GMC Sierra 1500, one of those pick-ups that are very popular in the United States but will hardly find a place in Europe. With this preparation, it is definitely too much for European tastes.

The GMC Sierra 1500 is an impressive vehicle, but it does not achieve the success of models such as the Ford F-150 Raptor or the RAM 150. Thanks to the work of the Hennessey professionals, this model can achieve the massive presence that buyers of this type of vehicle are looking for.

The 6.2-litre V8 engine of the GMC Sierra has been upgraded with a new supercharger and other components that allow it to deliver higher power. In fact, the 425 CV offered by the model it is based on rise to 650 CV, living up to its name. This is a 55% increase over the original power.

These added elements are a 3.0-litre supercharger, which is paired with a renewed intake and exhaust system, both with high flow. The intercooler and the sump cooling system have also been improved, in addition to receiving specific electronics to manage the whole set.

The gearbox, on the other hand, remains the one that the standard pick-up offers. It is a ten-speed automatic transmission. All of this means the price is not very affordable. This engine and its add-ons increase the final price by $28,000, equivalent to approximately 25,500 euros.

To make the vehicle even more attractive, Hennessey also offers an aesthetic package to enhance not only the engine but also the exterior appearance. This includes a front bumper with the inscription Goliath and additional lights at the front. Another important element is the suspension, which raises the floor of the car slightly. The new 20-inch wheels help with this, fitted with 35-inch all-terrain tyres.

This aesthetic upgrade raises the price by another $22,500, 21,000 euros at the exchange rate, but it is offset by a three-year or 36,000-mile warranty, that is, 57,600 kilometres.
