Electric Cars Hybrid Cars Concepts Salón de Frankfurt
Hongqi bursts onto the Frankfurt Motor Show with two spectacular models
The Chinese manufacturer surprises at Frankfurt with two concept models: a supercar it will produce shortly and an electric SUV with premium design

The Frankfurt Motor Show had some notable absences, but to make up for them we saw proposals from less well-known brands that surprised attendees. The Chinese luxury car brand Hongqi was one of these surprise manufacturers, and the two cars it presented drew considerable attention.
The first is a supercar, the first the brand has designed and built entirely on its own, and it caused the sensation that the manufacturers had hoped for. The other model is a fully electric SUV that is no less impressive in design and performance, which we can see thanks to the photos published by Carscoops.

Hongqi S9
The first of the two concept cars is the Hongqi S9, a hypercar whose looks are striking, and you can also watch a video of it at the end of the article. The brand from the FAW group has chosen for this concept a hybrid powertrain consisting of a V8 engine working in combination with one or more electric motors.
With this combination the Hongqi will offer a power of 1,400 CV and reach a top speed of 400 km/h, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.9 seconds. And, as strange as it may seem, this concept will reach production, with first deliveries expected in 2021.

Hongqi E115
This electric SUV is another of the concept cars the Chinese brand brought to Frankfurt. Its battery pack offers a range of 600 kilometres. It features AWD traction and can achieve acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds. Unfortunately, we do not know details about its battery or the electric motors it uses.
In addition, the Hongqi E115 has a Level 4 autonomous driving capability, which will allow it to position itself in that emerging market, especially in China, where electric vehicles and cutting-edge technology are beginning to matter. For now, it has not been said whether this model will go into series production, so we will have to wait to see whether it does, whether it will be limited to China, or whether its presence in Frankfurt brings forward its arrival in Europe.
