Hyperscreen: this is the superscreen of the Mercedes EQS
Mercedes presents the new MBUX Hyperscreen system with artificial intelligence, which will debut in its new electric luxury saloon, the Mercedes EQS,

A superscreen for an electric luxury saloon. It is the evolution of the MBUX system of Mercedes-Benz, which first debuted in the Mercedes A-Class and has since been adopted across the brand’s different models. According to Mercedes-Benz, no fewer than 1.8 million cars with the star on the bonnet use this system, which has seen its second generation born in the new Mercedes S-Class.
But what Mercedes Benz has just unveiled is something else. It is called Hyperscreen, and the most noteworthy thing is not its size but the fact that artificial intelligence AI will take on a greater role, so that the car’s infotainment system constantly learns and becomes the best companion for the driver and passengers.
More than 2,400 cm² of screen surface
The MBUX Hyperscreen will debut in the Mercedes EQS, the brand’s future all-electric luxury saloon, derived from the Vision EQS prototype. Its concept means we have to completely rethink the approach. Because from here on, we will no longer speak of an interior with different screens: one for the multimedia system, one for the instrumentation, one for climate control…

In the MBUX Hyperscreen system, practically the entire dashboard, from side to side, is a single screen. In reality it is several screens converging into one, as if they were integrated into a single curved display, which measures 141 centimetres from side to side (here one cannot speak of a “diagonal”). It occupies an area of 2,432 square centimetres.
The curved screen, made of aluminium silicate and scratch-resistant, has been moulded at a temperature of 650 degrees, which eliminates any possible distortion regardless of the viewing angle.
Artificial intelligence
The system housed behind it has an 8-core processor CPU, 24 GB of RAM and a bandwidth of 46.5 Gb/s. To interact with passengers it has 12 sensors, a multifunction camera and a light sensor.

Its software integrates artificial intelligence, something we have already seen in the MBUX, but with much more advanced functions. It is capable of learning and offering personalised suggestions for comfort or infotainment, adapting the screen and the operating system to the driver or to the passenger, who has their own display.
Mercedes has sought to simplify operation as much as possible, so that there is no need to navigate through submenus or use voice commands. To this end, artificial intelligence ensures that the applications or functions that may be needed appear automatically at each moment. The system is able to proactively display functions, keeping the navigation, multimedia and telephone menus always at the centre, since the analysis of its MBUX system reveals that these are the most used menus.

Even so, the MBUX Hyperscreen offers more than 20 different functions, ranging from the active massage system to reminders of appointments, key dates or tasks to do.
