Is Porsche working on a new 911 Sport Classic?
A test mule of the current generation Porsche 911 with a spoiler very similar to that of the 911 Sport Classic last seen on the 997 has been spotted on camera.

We won’t say that alarm bells went off in the Highmotor newsroom when we saw the video from one of our favourite spotters, but we won’t deny that the surprise made us look at our screens as closely as common sense allowed to confirm that a Porsche 911 992 unit filmed by Automotive Mike has a ‘duck tail’ spoiler of the legendary type or ducktail, the one that not only debuted on the Porsche Carrera RS 2.7 but also reappeared on the sixth-generation Porsche 911 Sport Classic.
And while that one was a rarity, the examples of this limited edition on the 997 generation could be described as unicorns, since for the author this is possibly the most beautiful Porsche 911 of all time.

Personal impressions aside, the images taken on and off track, but above all when the test car, clearly in testing, is parked and filmed clearly, show an aerodynamic appendage over the rear axle, which makes it obvious that Porsche is testing at least one different type of spoiler for the 911.

Moreover, judging by the bumper features, it seems to have a different configuration from that of the models that the eighth generation offers in any of its variants.
In fact, the sound is quite reminiscent of the 4.0 engine with twin-turbo system from the Porsche 911 Turbo, and indeed the explosive exit from the acceleration lane at the Nürburgring Circuit, where else, shows the muscle of this engine.

In any case, the 2010 Porsche 911 Sport Classic had the 408 CV naturally aspirated engine and an exquisite balance between the power of the most potent atmospheric engines and the comfort of the more civilised versions. A delightful vehicle that was given the green light for worldwide production of just 250 examples.
Be that as it may, seeing a Porsche 992 with a package or configuration like the 911 Sport Classic would be one more reason to justify that this new generation is a timeless machine, a journey in time, going back to the past to recover the virtues of the experience while always moving forward, incorporating technologies that always add appeal to the driving of a Porsche 911, an eternal and unrepeatable classic.
