Jaguar Land Rover unveils its latest technologies at CES 2015
During CES 2015 in Las Vegas, visitors were able to drive a driving simulator installed in a Jaguar F-Type, featuring a driver monitoring system to track their reactions and that automatically adjusts the vehicle’s safety systems

That the automotive industry keeps a close eye on the CES is something we already know. Many brands take advantage of the American consumer electronics event to present the new features they equip their models with. One of them is Jaguar Land Rover, which, despite not having an explicit presence at the event, has presented its latest proposals for the sector.
The British company has collaborated with INTEL to present a driver attention monitoring system, mounted on a Jaguar F-Type. In addition to this system, the company did not miss the opportunity to showcase all those technologies that will become a reality in its cars in the coming years or even months.
These technologies were installed in the car itself, which featured a 3D surround driving simulator that allowed drivers to make a short journey using all the possibilities the car offers without leaving the CES venue.

Among them, the new intelligent interface, the improved connectivity between smartphone and car and, above all, the “Ghost Car” system, which projects onto the windscreen all the information the driver needs to know, from speed to the navigation directions, overlaid on a live image of the road or street, indicating the direction to follow.
In addition, this advance allows traffic signs that may have been hidden by trucks to be seen, so that information about the road is always present in front of the driver. The driver using the simulator from Jaguar and Intel is subject to monitoring of their reactions while driving and allows the safety system settings of the vehicle to be adapted to the driving characteristics automatically.
Jaguar has announced that it will make all its technology available to external developers, to improve the quality of its safety and onboard technology products. To this end, it has used open source for its development, so that any developer can take part by contributing their own solutions.
It has also announced that it has made the installation of its InControl platform available to other companies. Some brands have already responded, according to Jaguar Land Rover, and are interested in incorporating this platform into their cars. The technology is closely tied to the automotive world and at these events we get to know many of the ones that will arrive shortly. At least in the higher-end models.
