Jaguar unveils the F-Type Coupe together with a new V8 engine
Jaguar has just revealed the brand’s new model, the F-Type Coupe, a few hours ago. It is the closed version of the British roadster, which also debuts a new 550 CV V8 engine that tops the range. First deliveries are scheduled for March 2014.

The F-Type has, on its own merits, become one of the most desired and attractive Jaguar of recent years. That is why the brand wants to capitalise on the model’s momentum by launching a second body style.
On this occasion it is the Jaguar F-Type Coupe, the closed version of the roadster. With a design practically identical to the C-X16 concept, Hihghmotor already showed you the first official photo a few days ago.
If the design of the F-Type already captivates, this coupé version is no less impressive, thanks to clean, simple lines that give the F-Type Coupe one of the most beautiful and harmonious silhouettes in the entire automotive world, faithfully recalling one of the great myths of the car, the F-Type.
A low, sharp nose, a compact profile and a muscular rear with wide hips: everything works in favour of the Jaguar to win more than one, and more than two, design awards.

Basically, the technical and mechanical components have been transplanted directly from the F-Type Convertible, so the interior is exactly the same. The chassis is also the same, so the driving sensations will be very similar, although the extra rigidity provided by the closed roof will make its handling a touch more precise still.
The engines are also the same, all paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters on the steering wheel. However, it is true that there are a couple of “details” debuting on the F-Type Coupe. The first is a new electronic differential, which distributes power and applies braking force in a vectored manner, helping it trace corners more precisely.

The second novelty is more notable, since it is a new engine that will sit at the top of the range. Commercially named F-Type R, it will be powered by the 5.0-litre V8 engine taken from the XKR-S. Its output reaches 550 CV, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in exactly 4 seconds and reaches 300 km/h, electronically limited.
