Ken Block unveils his new car: the Ford Mustang 'Hoonifox'

Good old Ken Block has not been held back by the energy crisis or the worst pandemic we have lived through so far this millennium. His eagerness to enjoy his creations is such that, to add some spice to these times in which both his fellow countrymen and nearly half of the world’s population are under home confinement, he has decided to recruit his ‘henchmen’, who are, to a greater or lesser extent, responsible for the new Hoonifox, the Ford Mustang. A new beast that the driver and entrepreneur, together with his partners at Hoonigan Racing Division, are already shaping intellectually and virtually.
Given the circumstances, it is difficult to work on a build like this Ford Mustang, conceived from the Fox construction platform that gave birth to the least fortunate, appreciated and misunderstood of the Ford Mustangs ever built, but it is not difficult to gather around the personal computer to share what each member of the team has to say and contribute about the new project.
And, although it still bears the emblem of the North American wild horse, few people claim this car, also known as the Mustang Fox-Body. Not many, but with Ken Block being one of them, this means the generation has begun to rise in value among the showman’s fans.
We all know that the legion of followers surrounding this figure is vast and has grown as a result of his ability to find and carve out a place for himself until he became the reference point in the world of motorsport entertainment.

From his close relationship with Ford for more than a decade, productions as fascinating as the Ford Focus WRC or the Ford Fiesta WRC, which he rented and used in his World Rally Championship forays, have emerged. Under the roof of the headquarters located in Park City, Utah, United States, there also shelter the no less spectacular Ford Fiesta ST RX43, the unrivalled Ford F-150 Hoonitruck and the brutal Ford RS200. Although it is no longer among them, we cannot overlook the late and partially revived Ford Escort RS Cosworth ‘Cossie’, whose spirit will be carried over into the Ford Escort RS Cosworth Cossie V2.
And if you thought we were going to forget one of the biggest monsters to emerge from Block’s imagination thanks to Hoonigan’s ingenuity, you were mistaken, because we do not want to leave aside the other Ford Mustang in his collection, the bestial Hoonicorn RTR which, after its evolution, nearly doubled its power to 1,400 CV.
So, if you are interested in Ken Block’s cars, below we present the first sketches of the American’s next toy, the Ford Mustang Hoonifox.
