KIA opens German pre-orders for the new EV2 from €26,600

With the EV2, KIA expands its electric model range with an entry-level model that has a great deal of appeal: compact on the outside, spacious and flexible on the inside, with a distinctive design and technology typically found in higher segments.

KIA has just opened order books in Germany for its most compact electric model to date. This Central European country becomes the first in the entire European Union where the EV2 is already on sale. German customers who wish to can now order this urban SUV, just over four metres long—4.06 metres to be exact—with prices starting at just €26,600 for the entry-level Light version equipped with the standard battery pack.

The EV2 made its world debut at the Brussels Motor Show in January 2026. The South Korean manufacturer offers a choice of two battery packs: one of 42.2 kWh, with which it is possible to cover up to 317 km under the WLTP homologation cycle, and a larger one with 61 kWh, which raises the range to 448 km. Both battery packs are paired with a single electric motor located on the front axle.

When it comes to charging, the EV2 features a 400V architecture, requiring around half an hour to increase the state of charge from 10 to 80 percent.

Which one would you choose?

KIA offers four trim levels for its new urban SUV: Light —available only with the standard battery pack—, Air, Earth and GT-Line —available only with the larger battery pack. The entry-level Light version has a base price of €26,600 and, at this price, comes as standard with 16-inch steel wheels with wheel covers, front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, multiple driver assistance systems and the ccNC Lite infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It is worth noting that this entry-level version offers only four seats with a fixed rear bench.

One step up, the Air version is available from €28,990 with the standard battery pack, offering five seats in this case. If you opt for the larger battery pack, the price rises to €33,490 and this version then includes improvements such as 16-inch alloy wheels, electrically folding exterior mirrors, automatic climate control, a battery pack heater and an upgraded audio system.

The Earth trim level adds extra comfort options, such as an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, heated front seats and steering wheel, wireless smartphone charging and thermally insulated windows. In this case there are four-seat options with individual rear seats or five-seat versions, with prices around €31,500. The range of this version drops slightly to 308 km due to the extra equipment it includes.

Finally, at the top of the range, the GT-Line version is available from €36,890. In this case it is offered only with the larger 61 kWh battery pack, with which, according to the manufacturer, it is possible to cover up to 413 km. This version stands out for its sporty design, with 19-inch wheels, a sporty multifunction steering wheel, tinted glass, automatic door handles, synthetic leather upholstery and body-coloured exterior details.

KIA’s new EV2 stands out especially for its versatility. From the Earth trim upwards, the individual rear seats slide and recline, increasing the boot capacity from 362 to 403 litres. It also has a 15-litre front boot and, from the Air version onwards, a towbar is available as an option, allowing it to tow up to 750 kg.

For those fitted with the larger battery pack, including the GT-Line, customers will have to wait until July, while the entry-level Light version will arrive in the autumn, next October.
