Koenigsegg gives us a preview of the Agera's successor and promises a lot

Koenigsegg is putting the finishing touches on every detail of the Agera RS’s successor and, to whet our appetite, it shows us this teaser where we can glimpse its striking rear.

The world’s most iconic manufacturers are preparing to show what their next step will be, in which they face the difficult task of surpassing existing models. Koenigsegg has not wanted to sit idly by in this battle to win the title of the fastest production vehicle in the world, where the Bugatti Chiron is its main rival. However, the Swedish firm is ready to make its move, which it demonstrates with this teaser in which we can make out the silhouette of the successor to the current Agera, one of the fastest and most iconic models on the market today.

Koenigsegg is aware that creating a successor to the Agera is no simple task, since this model has not only revolutionised the supercar segment, but the automotive industry as a whole. The Swedish firm is known for building vehicles with a strong personality and, at the same time, exclusivity, since many of its components are its own and unique in the world, something the company intends to keep applying in this new model.

The news that the Agera RS’s life was coming to an end saddened us all, but this gave the firm of Christian von Koenigsegg a new opportunity to create a completely unique model. For now we don’t know its name, but we can see some features of its rear and glimpse a new design language that is updated while keeping intact the essence of Koenigsegg models.

We can see how the rear of this upcoming hypercar adopts more modern and current design lines, while still maintaining Koenigsegg’s characteristic personality. The first thing that catches our attention is the huge wing that rests calmly over the rear, designed to keep this new offspring firmly planted on the ground.

As for the mechanics, we can imagine that Christian von Koenigsegg has some surprises in store for us, and we may witness how hybrid technology brings the successor to the Agera to life. Let’s remember that the model it replaces had a 5.0-litre V8 engine capable of producing 1,176 CV in one of its most extreme versions, so it would not be far-fetched to think of a power output close to 1,500 CV and a considerably lower weight.

For the moment the Swedish firm has made no statements on the matter and we will not get to know this new creation in detail until the next Geneva Motor Show. Meanwhile, Koenigsegg is whetting our appetite with this mysterious teaser, which also paves the way for a new era within the brand.
