Alongside the futuristic Koenigsegg Quant, the Dutch maker of exotic sports cars will present another concept which, as could not be otherwise, delights us with the brand’s classic philosophy of offering exclusive cars that are not for everyone. And speaking of exclusive, the Koenigsegg Agera is another variant built on the basis of the CCX.

The new Agera has some design and engine changes compared to the CCX. In terms of design, were it not for the variations at the front, we would be talking about a CCX that has been “tuned”, so to speak. The designers have made the front of the car as wide as the rear to avoid excessive body roll and improve the car’s dynamics. The brakes and the engine’s ventilation system have been improved with new front air intakes, much more generous than on the CCX.

Technically, it features a new traction control system that adapts automatically to road conditions and to different driving styles. As for the engine, the Rotrex superchargers have been given more boost so that the new Agera reaches 910 horsepower and 811 lb-ft of torque.

For those who love details, the care and the eye-catching touches of the interior have been more meticulous than ever in the Agera. Like any good concept, the cabin is a chapter of its own worth seeing. Koenigsegg announces that it has included an “ambient” lighting system and for the instruments, with nanotubes. Likewise, a single control on the centre console operates several functions, such as a G-force meter, power gauges, navigation, music controls, a stopwatch or a compass (assuming a compass is useful in a sports car).

The Agera will not be just a concept, since it is already a pre-production model that will continue to be tested in the months after the Geneva Motor Show, and for which Michelin is going to release a new type of tyre made especially for the occasion.
