Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica: the street

With its naturally aspirated 640 CV V10 engine, rear-wheel drive and modifications to the chassis and aerodynamics, the Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica sits in the range between the Huracan EVO and the STO.

Our impressions from the first drive of the Lamborghini Huracán Evo and Urus are still very fresh, and now the Italian brand has once again turned all our attention to a new dimension with its latest creation, the Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica. It is an evolution of the supercar from Sant’Agata Bolognese aimed at those who want a supercar they can drive to the circuit… and hit the track simply by adjusting the tyre pressures.

Compared with the Huracán Evo, this new variant offers a power-to-weight ratio of 2.15 kg/CV, thanks to modifications that cut kerb weight to 1,379 kg. The 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10, as in the Huracán STO, delivers 640 CV and a maximum torque of 656 Nm, sent to the tarmac through the rear axle. It features a modified exhaust to make the drive even more exciting, although the cabin includes measures to offer greater acoustic comfort on the road. Performance figures include a top speed of 325 km/h, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds, and just 9.1 seconds to go from 0 to 200 km/h.

Rear-wheel drive, four-wheel steering

Among the features that make the Huracan Tecnica a formidable weapon for beating the clock on the track are the rear-wheel steering axle and the torque vectoring system, along with specific suspension tuning and the LDVI system (Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata), which manages all the technical elements related to driving. The driver can choose between the STRADA, SPORT or CORSA modes: the first is the most comfortable for road driving, and the last the most extreme, for maximum performance on the circuit.

Externally, the bodywork changes are aimed at improving aerodynamics. The fixed rear wing increases rear-axle downforce by 35% compared with the Huracan EVO RWD, without compromising the final drag coefficient. In fact, the optimisation of the underbody, with new deflectors, the design of the new bumper and the front splitter reduce aerodynamic drag by 20%. The brakes, with carbon-ceramic discs, include specific calipers and cooling ducts, while the wheels, inspired by those of the Lamborghini Vision GT, are 20 inches and fitted with Bridgestone Potenza Sport tyres, sized 245/30 at the front and 305/30 at the rear.
