When one talks about Lamborghini, two things come to mind first: a lot of power and all-wheel drive. Edo Competition, however, prefers to speak in other terms: much more power and rear-wheel drive.

Based on the Murciélago LP640, the LP710-2 develops 710 hp -something easily deduced from its name-. This monstrous power is delivered at 8,000 rpm and has been achieved by modifying certain engine components, that is, without resorting to “make-do” solutions such as supercharging or turbochargers. No. A wider carbon-fibre air intake has been fitted, the cylinder heads have been modified, and the exhaust features valves controlled from inside the cabin with a button, so the opening can be regulated and, consequently, the power.

But that is the least of what should catch your attention. Each of those 710 hp goes to the rear wheels, thanks to its rear-wheel drive with a single clutch disc. In numbers: 3.2 seconds from standstill to 100 km/h and 360 km/h as top speed.

As is obvious, rear-wheel drive also brings a number of other advantages. One of them is weight reduction, of 44 kg. All of this is complemented by an aerodynamic package -which the creature badly needs to stay stable- and an adjustable rear wing.

Edo Competition does not seem to deserve to be called just another tuner, but rather a guild of craftsmen who know how to complete a product with the best results. For further delight, the gallery:
