Lamborghini Urus Performante Essenza SCV12: only 40 units for a lucky few

It seems hard to believe that almost three years have passed since the arrival of the Lamborghini Essenza SCV12, a track-only hypercar of which just 40 units were built. What’s more, Lamborghini has now gone a step further by creating a special edition of the Lamborghini Urus, available only to the 40 owners of that racing hypercar.

Today’s protagonist is called the Lamborghini Urus Performante Essenza SCV12 and, like the model that inspired it, it features a large amount of carbon fibre across its bodywork in various finishes: on the bonnet, roof, rocker covers, mirror housings and the central trim strip that joins the two rear lights.

Matched to each owner’s SCV12

Customised to order for each owner, every Urus Essenza SCV12 wears a two-tone colour scheme with the lower bodywork in black, along with a thin orange-red dividing line that highlights the sporty silhouette of this high-performance super SUV.

Like the colour scheme, all the Urus models in this special edition share the same door identifier number as the respective SCV12s they reference, combined with 23-inch gloss black wheels and black brake calipers, which can also be specified in another colour on request.

Moving inside, the cabin features exclusive Alcántara Nero Cosmus upholstery with leather details, gloss or matt carbon fibre inserts, black anodised aluminium elements and a package called the Dark Package, which adds red door handles.

Interior and mechanical specification

As is only fitting for such a special edition, the new Urus SCV12 comes with two small commemorative carbon fibre plaques. One bears the 60th anniversary logo of Lamborghini, and the other shows the vehicle’s number or the customer’s name.

As for its mechanical specification, the special edition retains the same setup as the Urus Performante, comprising a twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 666 CV and a maximum torque of 850 Nm. With all that, the Performante accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 306 km/h.
