Land Rover has just unveiled the 2015 range of the Discovery, a model that this year marks a quarter of a century on the market. As with the previous update, the biggest changes are limited to equipment, which is enhanced with more technology and options previously exclusive to the anniversary commemorative version, the XXV Special Edition. The British brand is already accepting orders and deliveries will begin in September.

One of the most interesting new features is Land Rover InControl Apps, a technology that lets you control functions such as the navigation system, video playback, internet radio and location services, and also manage the contacts, music playlists and calendar stored on a phone.

The initial list of apps is extensive, and the manufacturer says it will keep adding more with each update. To use them, the user must download Land Rover InControl Apps from the Apple App Store or from Google Play, connect the phone to the car via the latter’s USB port, and select the desired app on the centre console screen.

The 2015 Discovery also receives new twenty-inch wheels with five double spokes, and three new exterior colours: Aruba, Kaikora Stone and Montalcino Red. Inside, the highlight is the option of fitting the steering wheel designs from the XXV Special Edition, one in wood with Grand Black lacquer and the other wrapped in leather.
