The Land Rover Defender is one of the most attractive off-road vehicles on the market, and customizers such as ECD have worked on it

The Land Rover Defender is one of the most interesting off-roaders on the market, so it’s no surprise that customization companies have taken an interest in it, and not only in the latest models but also in one that is already a decade old. This Land Rover Defender from 1991 has been modified by East Coast Defender (ECD) and has been named D110 Project Invictus.

This particular model features a 6.2-litre LS3 V8 engine that produces considerable power of 430 CV and is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. It also comes with a Borla exhaust, high-performance brakes and a bidirectional hydraulic suspension, as well as 18-inch wheels made by Kahn and BFGoodrich all-terrain tyres in 265/65 size.

The customized model keeps the original grille, but the rest of the exterior has been reworked to give the whole vehicle a more attractive and powerful look. Steel bumpers and metal side steps add a more rugged touch. Roof-mounted auxiliary lights, a winch and a solar panel kit to charge mobile devices complete the package.

A curious and very practical addition to the Defender D110 Project Invictus is a custom roof rack with a fold-out tent that lets you sleep anywhere. Inside, for added comfort, the Land Rover D110 Project Invictus has heated Puma front seats and a 60/40 split rear bench.

There is also a wooden steering wheel, leather in various parts of the cabin, a Sony infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and reversing camera, plus a JL sound system and radio equipment to stay in touch with civilisation even when driving through areas without mobile coverage.

This is a model designed for leisure time and demanding terrain, with good off-road capability, and given all this, it would be very interesting to see how the latest version of the Land Rover Defender turns out after passing through the skilful hands of ECD, don’t you think?
