The Leapmotor T03 can also be a perfect ally for deliveries in urban centres thanks to the new LCV commercial version, which will expand its range

As you probably already know, Leapmotor is another of those recently created Chinese brands looking to open up the market on a more global scale and expand its products, something it has achieved since 2023, when the giant Stellantis acquired a 20% stake in the company, which has served Leapmotor as the perfect launchpad to reach the general public.

Among the models Leapmotor has brought to Europe is the T03, a fully electric model of compact dimensions designed to move through large cities like a fish in water, while also aiming to make life difficult for established vehicles in Europe and take a slice of their market, such as the Dacia Spring. Now Leapmotor is raising its stakes with the T03 to attract a larger number of customers with the new LCV version, that is, a commercial electric vehicle that will serve the professional sector.

Large cities have turned, and will continue to turn, their centres into zones where vehicle emissions are increasingly reduced thanks to regulations introduced by Low Emission Zones (ZBE). It is precisely there that small and medium-sized businesses need to turn to electric vehicles for work, errands and even deliveries, and the Leapmotor T03 LCV arrives to cover this field too.

In itself, the Leapmotor T03 LCV is the same as its conventional version, a vehicle measuring 3,620 mm in length, 1,652 mm in width and 1,577 mm in height, so thanks to its compact dimensions and electric motor it can drive through any city and park practically anywhere. Furthermore, in this version the rear seats have been removed, which increases the boot capacity to 657 litres and a maximum payload of up to 220 kg, with a separation grille installed from the rear seating area to comply with safety regulations for this type of vehicle. It keeps the rear side doors, which in practical terms is very useful for accessing or loading parcels from either side and not just from the tailgate.

Despite being a commercial version, Leapmotor has not skimped on equipment for the T03 LCV, which is the same as the conventional version, with interesting features such as the following:

  • 15-inch alloy wheels
  • Light sensor
  • Heated, electrically adjustable wing mirrors
  • Keyless start
  • Driving modes
  • Multifunction steering wheel
  • Air conditioning
  • Rear-view camera
  • Rear sensors
  • 8-inch digital instrument cluster
  • Infotainment system with 10.1-inch screen
  • 6 airbags
  • 10 driver assistance and safety systems

The T03 LCV’s powertrain remains the electric motor producing 70 kW (95 CV), working together with a 37.3 kWh battery that provides 395 km of urban-cycle range according to WLTP. Once the battery is depleted, it can recover its energy via DC charging, going, for example, from 30% to 80% in around 36 minutes.
