Madrid Motor Show: Corvette

We begin our review of the Madrid Show with a familiar but no less exciting appetizer. Although this year the show did not boast a strong presence of sports brands -practically none, in fact- the Corvettes hold their ground, shielded by their sister brands Cadillac and Hummer.
It’s a pleasure to walk among so much novelty and come across these glories, old glories in quotes. The irreplaceable Corvettes were represented by a Z06 in Velocity Yellow and a C6 Convertible in Aire Blue metallic.
The first of them was the most radical production Corvette until the arrival of the ZR-1, and considering the exclusivity of the latter we could say that in everyday terms it still is. It is not a Targa, it does not weigh as much as the C6 (163 kg less), it has more displacement (7 liters versus the 6 of the entry-level version) and more power (507 CV). Without a doubt it was, is and will remain for quite some time the unbeatable rival at the lower end of what is still economically accessible for many.
The C6 Convertible is less in every sense, obviously. It is the alternative to the Coupé, which, even though it is a Targa, does not offer the same open-air sensations as this one. Fabric roof, 404 horsepower, 6-liter V8… there is not much to say, because everything about it is already known.
Everything, except the sensations both can convey at the wheel. Two aspects that are harder to reach.
