Maserati MC20 Icona and MC20 Leggenda, two limited editions commemorating the brutal MC12 Stradale
Maserati presents the exclusive limited editions MC20 Icona and MC20 Leggenda as a tribute to the iconic MC12 with which they returned to competition in 2004

In 2004, Maserati launched the MC12 Stradale road version, a spectacular supercar designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro that drew directly from another iconic supercar, the Ferrari Enzo, from which it inherited elements such as the chassis and the powertrain, a V12 engine that made it the fastest production Maserati, with a 0 to 100 time of 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 330 km/h.
From this road model, of which only around fifty units were built, Maserati MC12 Corsa was derived for competition, marking the return of the trident brand to the world of racing after 37 years without taking part in it. This supercar inspired another modern Maserati supercar, the MC20, a model that now pays tribute with two limited editions called MC20 Icona and MC20 Leggenda, which join the MC20 Notte, the latter being the first limited edition since Maserati launched it on the market.
Maserati MC20 Icona

For the Maserati MC20 Icona, the brand has revived the Bianco Audace Matte and Blu Stradale colours of the 2004 MC12 Stradale, while also paying homage to the Maserati Trofeo Light that took part in the 24 Hours of Daytona, a car inspired by the Maserati Birdcage Tipo 61, produced between 1959 and 1961. The MC20 Icona wheels are chrome-finished and include silver-coloured wheel-centre caps, with the brand’s Trident in blue as a contrast; behind them are brake calipers also painted blue.
The brand has also turned to the Fuoriserie personalisation programme to add details that underline the level of customisation of this model, joining others such as the carbon-fibre engine cover and the mirrors with automatic dimming. All of it finished, as is only fitting for an Italian car, with the tricolour placed below the doors.
Maserati MC20 Leggenda

For the Maserati MC20 Leggenda, the brand has used a livery in Nero Essenza and Digital Mint Matte, the colours of the MC12 GT1 of the Vitaphone Racing team, with which they achieved the feat of winning three times, along with two other runner-up finishes, at the 24 Hours of Spa.
The Fuoriserie programme is also applied, with the fitted wheels featuring the Trident design in Nero Lucido, with centre caps in Nero Opaco and Trident Digital Mint, behind which are brake calipers painted black. In addition, for greater contrast, the Trident logo on the grille, the doors and the C-pillar is painted yellow.

Both special editions also feature Fuoriserie elements inside, inspired by the world of racing, such as the lightweight monocoque competition seats with four-point harnesses, upholstered in a combination of Nero and Blu colours with a silver background for the Icona or, for the Leggenda, in Nero upholstery on a silver background. Both feature the Trident embroidered on the headrest, accompanied by the name of the chosen model.
And that’s not all, as both limited editions also come with a Sonus Faber sound system, a carbon-fibre interior pack, an electronic limited-slip differential (E-LSD), the suspension lift system, blind-spot and rear cross-traffic detection systems, and floor mats for the front and the boot. Finally, a plate on the engine cover will indicate the number of the unit you are looking at.
