Mazda will present five show models at the 2016 Tokyo Auto Salon

We have already mentioned that the year opens with the Tokyo Auto Salon, which is the Japanese version of the SEMA in Las Vegas and which will take place during the first days of January. We have even seen some of the proposals that the country’s various brands are preparing for the event, and now we turn our attention to Mazda, which will present five vehicles specially prepared to be shown to the public attending this customization fair.

They are variants of the brand’s well-known models, and of course the Mazda MX-5 could not be missing. Two cars will be presented based on this model. The first is called the RS Racing Concept and is painted in glossy black, a color that greatly enhances its look and gives it a very elegant appearance. To give it a more distinguished and attractive look, a red line has been added at the lower part.

The second MX-5, which in Japan is simply called Roadstar, is named RS Racing Concept, which also stands out for its appearance. In this case, however, it is closer to what one expects from a competition car, with a livery in red, white, black and silver. A large towing hook at the front and a safety structure give it a certain touch of sporting exclusivity. The sports seats and Takata safety belts complete the look being sought.

The Mazda CX-3 on display also has an appearance reminiscent of the Roadster RS Racing Concept, through its sporty presence. Apart from its obvious differences, as it is a completely different model, you can see a different rear bumper and the spoiler mounted on the roof.

The Mazda6 is another of the models used as a base to offer a different, customized car. It features a modified splitter, side skirts and rear bumper, plus black wheels with silver spokes. Finally, we will look at a rally-prepared Mazda2 that has received treatment to face that very demanding type of competition. Being a customization fair, these are show models, and these five units are just proposals. The options are, as they say, endless…
