McLaren continues to deliver good news about its super sports car P1, of which we recently offered you a full photo gallery at the Bahrain circuit. It seems that this kind of media exposure helps a lot in selling the P1, since the British brand reports that it has sold around 250 units so far.

Of course, we are talking about a car with a very limited and exclusive customer segment, although 250 units may sound like little. However, it is quite an achievement if we consider that McLaren originally planned to produce only 375 units of the model, so it has already sold two-thirds of the quantity it had planned, since it was recently unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show.

Buyers’ interest has far exceeded the most optimistic expectations, it seems, since it is estimated that almost 300 customers will be left without their prized example once P1 production ends. One of the McLaren executives was even more explicit, announcing that they had 500 potential buyers who are serious (that is, with plenty of money in their pockets) in view.

The most interesting thing of all is that the offers have mostly come from Europe, with only a few others received from the USA or the Middle East. Those received from Asia, where the British brand will launch an advertising campaign to make the P1 even better known, have not been counted. At this rate, the P1 will not take long to sell out in the coming months, at a price of roughly the equivalent of 1,050,000 euros.
