More technical details about the Renault Mégane RS: it will feature the 4Control steering system!
Although it will not be officially presented until the Frankfurt Motor Show in September, we are already learning details about the new Renault Mégane RS

We saw it during the Monaco Grand Prix celebrations, but we still lacked a good deal of technical information about the Renault Mégane RS. The official presentation of the model will take place next September at the Frankfurt Motor Show, but we have had the chance to see it at a few special events, almost always under wraps and without learning much more than rumours about its equipment. Among those rumours was the possibility that it would feature the 4Control four-wheel steering system.
With this type of steering, the model can achieve greater control as it features an electromechanical actuator on the rear axle, which turns the rear wheels and helps the front ones change direction. This provides greater control, but also improves the car’s performance and allows each turn to be executed with greater precision. The 4Control system has been tuned by the engineers at Renault Motorsport to refine its operation and allow greater agility when taking corners at high speed.

This rear steering control is inherited from the Mégane GT version, which already featured it, but it will not be the only model to offer it, as it can be fitted to other models in the range. That said, it is the first compact sports car to use a system of this kind, so it will mark an important difference from its rivals.
Another of the rumours circulating about this model has also been confirmed: the possibility of fitting either a manual gearbox or a dual-clutch automatic. We have also confirmed the existence of two chassis. The standard version will be offered to those who want the more relaxed version of the compact sports car, while those who enjoy testing their skills on the track will be able to opt for the Cup chassis, designed to add more excitement to the model.
All of this leads us to believe that the final details will reveal a bold, powerful and well-equipped car, set to be a benchmark in its segment, and has us looking forward to the end of summer eager to learn every detail.
