New Ford Fiesta 2017
Ford unveils the new generation of its city car, with the best handling in the segment to date.
Ford Motor Company has unveiled the new generation of the Ford Fiesta at the “Go Further” event held in Cologne, Germany. Given the outstanding dynamic performance shown by its predecessor, expectations for the 2017 Fiesta are high. The responsive engines and exemplary handling made the old Fiesta one of the most successful city cars in its segment.

At the Cologne event, Ford revealed four production variants of the 2017 Fiesta: the Fiesta Titanium with an elegant focus, the Fiesta ST-Line inspired by Ford Performance, the Fiesta Vignale with a more luxurious touch, and the Fiesta Active crossover.
In terms of design, the 2017 Ford Fiesta has undergone some changes. The latest generation has a smoother exterior line with more rounded curves than its predecessor. The wheel arches have been softened, as has the front grille, whose corners no longer extend downward as they did on the previous model.

The ST-Line pack adds a series of sporty exterior and interior elements that give the standard model a more aggressive look, although the mechanics remain unchanged. The ST version is expected to take a more radical form.

As for the engines available in this city car, there is a range of three-cylinder turbocharged and naturally aspirated petrol engines, plus the most powerful diesel unit seen to date in a Ford Fiesta. However, the most notable engine in the range is the 1.0 EcoBoost. It is the first three-cylinder engine to feature cylinder deactivation, which contributes to fuel savings.
On the technology side, the new Ford Fiesta offers a floating eight-inch high-definition screen, together with the SYNC 3 communications and entertainment system. The new city car is the first Ford to offer the high-end B&O Play sound system.

During the presentation of the 2017 Ford Fiesta, the American company also announced that next year it will begin testing on European roads in order to develop the autonomous technology for its future vehicles.
