New Kia Ceed GT: more sporty and faster than ever
The new Kia Ceed GT features a 1.6-litre petrol engine that produces 204 CV of power. The chassis setup is sportier than that of its predecessor.
The new Kia Ceed GT was unveiled a few days ago alongside the new Kia ProCeed, and we already have the first details of the model replacing the former pro_cee´d GT. The renewal of the first sporty compact from the South Korean brand has been designed and conceived for the European market; in fact, it will only be sold in the Old Continent.
Sporty design

As it could not be otherwise, the sportiest version of the Ceed range offers an exterior design that visually sets it apart from the rest of the range’s variants. At the front, the Ceed GT includes a newly designed bumper, with large air intakes and a glossy black trim at the base. The characteristic “tiger-nose” grille of the Kia has also been modified, and on this model it features a dark chrome surround, in addition to the “GT” badge.
At the rear, the car features a rear bumper with a design specific to this version. Above all, the rear diffuser finished in glossy black stands out, along with the “GT” emblem on the tailgate and the addition of a small roof spoiler. The car comes as standard with aluminium alloy wheels (lightweight) of 18 inches.

Chassis: sporty setup
Ground clearance has been reduced by 5 mm compared with the standard Ceed and the Sportswagon version, which lowers the car’s centre of gravity and therefore improves its dynamics. The front and rear suspension have also received a firmer setup, which reduces body roll and improves the car’s response when cornering.

The car’s lateral acceleration, meaning its ability to achieve maximum speed through corners, has also been improved thanks to the inclusion of anti-roll bars that improve traction and grip in bends.
The electronic stability control offers a less restrictive setup, which provides greater freedom for oversteer (the ability to move the rear wheels more easily). The stability management system comes as standard on this version, as does torque vectoring under braking, an electronic system that brakes the inner wheels to reduce understeer in corners.

The braking system of the new Kia Ceed GT is also specific to this version: the front brake discs of the standard 288 mm Ceed have been replaced with 320 mm units, which provides greater efficiency during consecutive braking (less overheating).
1.6-litre petrol engine with 204 CV of power
The new Kia Ceed GT features a 1.6 l T-GDi petrol engine that produces 204 CV of power at 6,000 rpm and 265 Nm of torque. This powertrain is linked to a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, but for the first time a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission can also be chosen.
