The range of the Porsche 911 will be expanded this year with the arrival of the Carrera GTS and Carrera 4 GTS versions. As in previous generations, they will represent the intermediate step between the standard 911 Carrera and the 911 GT3, since there is a very large gap between them. The Carrera GTS is scheduled to be unveiled in November at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

The exterior design of this version is characterised by the front spoiler, the SportDesign mirrors, the 20″ Turbo S wheels finished in black (other 20″ five-spoke wheels in the same colour are optionally available), the darkened headlights, the 44 mm of additional width at the rear inherited from the Carrera 4, the engine grille and the twin exhaust outlets painted black, and the decorative trim between the rear lights featured on the rear-wheel-drive variants.

In the cabin, the differences lie in the “GTS” badges on the door sills and seat headrests, the carbon-fibre decorative trim used on the doors, dashboard and centre console, and the contrasting colour (Carmine Red or Rhodium Silver) of the Alcantara upholstery stitching, the rev counter or the “Porsche” badge on the floor mats, among other details.

The 3.8-litre flat-six engine increases its output to 430 CV (thirty more than the Carrera S). With the manual gearbox, the Carrera GTS coupé accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds (a tenth faster than the Carrera S); if the PDK dual-clutch gearbox is chosen, the figure drops to exactly 4 seconds (4.2 in the case of the Carrera GTS Cabriolet).

Top speed also increases across all variants: from 303 km/h for the Carrera 4 GTS Cabriolet to 306 km/h for the Carrera GTS. The figures that remain unchanged compared with the Carrera S are the average fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The standard equipment of the Carrera GTS includes the PDLS dynamic lighting system, the Sport Chrono Plus package, the PASM systems (capable of lowering the suspension by 10 mm) and PDCC, ceramic brakes, the PCM multimedia system and the BOSE sound system.

The 911 Carrera GTS will go on sale from the end of this year, and its prices in Spain, taxes included, start at €135,339, the cost of the rear-wheel-drive coupé with manual gearbox. This model can already be configured on the brand’s Spanish website.
