Opel plans a strategy to have one in every three vehicles financed
Opel has just unveiled its financing strategy through to 2020. The company aims to offer improvements for everyone, but especially for its industrial models

Car manufacturers are constantly evolving, with the aim of offering improvements over the past. However, all this progress requires prior study, which Opel is currently carrying out with an eye on 2020. The German company is going through a period of major change following its recent acquisition by the PSA Group, something that is also reflected in the brand’s future plans. Specifically, Opel plans to meet the target of having one in every three cars sold in 2020 financed.
The German firm intends to extend its vehicle range into other segments and, at the same time, offer more attractive payment methods for its customers. To achieve this goal, Opel is already working with banking institutions to find alternatives to traditional payments and to promote financing and leasing, among other options. To establish these terms, the brand has developed the Opel Bank, which will advise its future buyers.
One of the most important sectors for the German company is industry, since these businesses rely on large vehicle fleets to meet their needs. To serve these customers, Opel intends to offer an appropriate and convenient financing plan, with the aim of increasing sales of commercial vehicles by 25% by 2020.

At the same time, the company offers a range of mobility packages, which include leasing products, insurance and services. In this way, Opel will be able to offer businesses a single, more consolidated proposal that brings together the various elements needed to acquire a large number of vehicles. The brand also aims to expand these packages not only with other models, but also across different European countries.
Over time, Opel plans to extend its financing plan so that it covers up to 90% of its main sales markets worldwide. Spain will be one of the first countries to offer this new payment option, with the exact date set for 1 April, as it is one of the locations where Opel records the highest number of sales across all types of vehicles.

Without a doubt, with this new Opel plan they will be able to offer much more affordable and competitive financing, especially for those companies that require a considerable number of units. At the same time, this system will be progressively rolled out across the rest of the world, benefiting both the brand and its customers.
