Peugeot 508 Hybrid4: diesel hybrid saloon

Peugeot has unveiled the Hybrid4 version of its 508 saloon, with consumption of 3.6 l/100 km.

The PSA Group continues to extend the use of the hybrid technology Hybrid4 previously introduced on some of its models, to the Hybrid4 version of the Peugeot 508 saloon, following the RXH version. It features the same 2.0 diesel engine producing 163 hp, a 27 kW (approx. 37 CV) electric motor and all-wheel drive.

In certain driving situations the total output of the Peugeot 508 Hybrid4 can reach 200 hp, depending on the driving style selected. There are four modes: Auto, ZEV (100% electric), Sport and 4WD (four-wheel drive).

Historically, large saloons from Peugeot offered a well-crafted design, with the distinctive character of the lion brand that we have come to admire over the years, although their weight and size did not lend them particularly good fuel consumption. Now, however, we are looking at a completely new technology that combines the advantages of the diesel engine with hybrid technology when it comes to consumption.

For this reason, the preliminary consumption figures for the new Peugeot 508 Hybrid4 are truly impressive: 3.6 l/100 km and CO2 emissions of just 95 g/km, good numbers for a saloon of this size. Peugeot has not disclosed prices yet, but we hope they will not be far from those of its rivals Audi or BMW.
