Pininfarina Battista Novantacinque, the last hypercar of its class, closes its production

When we talk about design and quality in every element of a car, we cannot help but think of Pininfarina. This designer has been present in the automotive industry for 95 years, and this is certainly a milestone worth celebrating in style. And the best way to do so is by designing an outstanding car that reminds everyone that the brand’s presence in the market is nearly 100 years old.

Many cars have benefited from the fine work and craftsmanship of Pininfarina, so there are plenty of examples to enjoy the studio’s work. But since 2019 it also decided to manufacture its own models, and at that time the Pininfarina Battista was born, a hypercar that brought together the best the brand had to offer and became a benchmark in the market for this type of vehicle.

A luxury electric car

The Pininfarina Battista became an electric car with a highly recognizable style and a very appealing performance. And now, to celebrate this 95th anniversary, Pininfarina is launching a very special edition, called Novantacinque, which marks the end of production of this model.

The car was unveiled at the National Automobile Museum in Turin at the end of May and is now being presented to everyone. The Battista Novantacinque is more a sculpture in motion than a car. The bodywork is made of red-tinted carbon fiber. This is a novelty for this model and gives the vehicle a more attractive depth.

This color is accompanied by decorative details in PURA Vision Gold. These can be seen in areas such as the lower part of the spoiler and the side stripes. Overall, it offers a very attractive and powerful look, giving it a very commanding presence. The black-finished wheels fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres add the finishing touch a vehicle designed to surprise and to stand out with style needs. The Novantacinque logos appear at several points on the bodywork and attest to its exclusivity.

The interior is also remarkable

The design and luxury are also present in the cabin. The seats are upholstered in black leather and Alcantara. The black and gold stitching offers an interesting contrast and reinforces the image the car projects on the outside. The satin carbon fiber, the polished aluminum accents and various anodized decorative details in black and gold give it an appearance worthy of a car with its aspirations.

Powertrain

And if appearance is important, the powertrain and its battery are no less impressive. The Pininfarina Battista Novantacinque is equipped with four electric motors, one at each wheel. The total output of these motors is 1,900 CV and a maximum torque of 2,300 Nm. With these motors, it achieves an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in less than two seconds, a spectacular figure.

The battery has a capacity of 120 kWh, enough to enjoy the car’s driving in an efficient manner. And with this version, the chapter of the Pininfarina Battista is closed. Only 150 units have been produced, and they have written Pininfarina’s name in gold in the industry. So we look forward to news and to whether they will be encouraged to produce another similar model.
