Plan B to avoid being caught by a speed camera: keep accelerating

First of all, I must make it clear that I do not want to promote any kind of illegal behavior, much less reckless driving—almost suicidal in this case. The aim is simply to share a fact that many of you probably don’t know, or only knew as an urban legend.

Contrary to what Mr. Navarro and the engineers who design the common radars on our roads would like, these have a series of operational limits. One of them, as we will see in the video below, is that above 300 km/h they are not able to register the speed of the vehicle.

I doubt there have been many occasions to escape a radar this way, both because of the demands on the vehicle and because of the reckless maneuver, but the fact stands. Nevertheless, it is clear that this could affect a number of models, perhaps the ones commonly used by the authorities, because one only has to watch any competition or specific speed test to see how radars are capable of recording very high top speeds.

Below, I leave you with the report that an Austrian television station made using as guinea pigs an Audi A5 at around 250 km/h, a Chrysler 300C SRT8 at 265 km/h, a Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabrio at almost 280 km/h, and finally a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder at more than 300 km/h.
