Polestar plans to launch four new models over the next three years
With these four new models, Polestar is focusing its attention on the market segments where demand and margins are highest.
The Swedish electric vehicle manufacturer, now under the control of Chinese giant Geely, has recently announced an ambitious commercial offensive that will see it launch four new models over the next three years. The company’s aim with this strategy is to consolidate its growth and capture high-demand, high-profitability segments of the electric vehicle market.
This is what’s coming
The first phase of this strategy will take place this very year, 2026, with the first deliveries of the new Polestar 5 next summer. This model, whose production version was presented last year, is an elegant four-door Gran Turismo with coupé-style lines and an aluminium body.
Derived from the Precept concept of 2020, it stands out for its aerodynamic design, advanced battery technology and sporting performance. In Germany, the dual-electric-motor version will have a base price of around 120,000 euros, while the Performance variant will exceed 142,000 euros. It is, therefore, a high-end model that will be positioned as the brand’s flagship.

New variant of the Polestar 4
A little later, but before the end of the year, the Swedish manufacturer will expand its range of electric models with a new variant of the popular Polestar 4, the brand’s best-selling model at present. Although Polestar has not yet given specific details about this vehicle, everything points to a family version of the Polestar 4 that we already know, which will stand out mainly for offering greater cargo space.
The current Polestar 4, with its design lacking a rear window and its limited boot, has received criticism regarding its practicality. With this new variant of the model, Polestar will try to attract a broader audience. Nor should we forget Sweden’s tradition of championing estate cars, which are far more versatile and offer more interior space.

Polestar 2
Already in 2027, we expect the debut of the new-generation Polestar 2, the mid-size saloon with which Polestar entered the electric market and which has for years been the star of its line-up. In this new generation we can expect a new front design, inspired by the brand’s most recent models. Although no technical details about this new model have been revealed yet, not even the platform it will use, it is speculated that the chosen one will be the PMA2+ from the Geely group.

Polestar 7
Finally, a year later, in 2028, the Swedish manufacturer plans to present the new Polestar 7, a compact premium SUV that will be manufactured in Europe, more specifically at the new Volvo plant in the Slovak town of Košice. It will share technology with future Volvo models while maintaining, however, the Polestar style with its characteristic dual headlights.
