Porsche Ibérica installs a portable charger for electric cars in Seville
A trailer equipped with a stationary battery to charge up to ten electric cars simultaneously, free of charge, in Seville

Some time ago we saw how Porsche offered its users a mobile charging point to recharge the batteries of their electric cars. That took place in Germany, with a truck equipped with a stationary battery to charge electric car batteries anywhere it was set up, and it travelled to several events. There, any electric vehicle user could recharge their battery free of charge.
And now, for the first time, this truck arrives in Spain and will be part of an awareness campaign on the use of electric vehicles promoted by Porsche. The truck will be set up in Seville for the Spanish national team’s match, until 27 June. The schedule for free electric car charging will be from 10:00 to 22:00, except when the Spanish national team plays, when it will be from 12:00 to 24:00, so that people can make the most of the match.

It will be located in the Isla Mágica car park, on Calle Juan Bautista Muñoz. The trailer will be connected to the electrical grid so that it can keep charging the stationary battery as needed. The presence of this trailer, where electric cars can be charged, is part of a collaboration agreement between Porsche Ibérica and Iberdrola signed in November 2020.

The trailer is 11.30 metres long and 2.55 metres wide, with a height of 4 metres. The tractor unit allows it to move between several locations. It is set up in a place where it can be parked easily and where several cars can also park.
Inside there is a stationary battery with a capacity of 2.1 MWh. This capacity allows it to charge 10 cars simultaneously at a power of 350 kW. To put it more clearly, if ten Porsche Taycan are connected simultaneously at 20% charge, they can reach 80% of their capacity in about 20 minutes.
