Range Rover Velar Electric Cars
Range Rover will launch only one electric model in 2026: its plans were to launch six by that date
Range Rover’s plans are being held back by the lack of global demand for electric cars, so they are scaling back the launches of these models.

The plans of Range Rover, one of the brands of Jaguar Land Rover, were to launch up to six different models in 2026. But several things have happened that have led them to rethink this strategy and consider a new scenario. With these new plans, 2026 will arrive and bring just one new electric model under the Range Rover badge.
This decision has been taken for the same reason other brands have decided to delay their electric novelties: the lack of demand in the international market. As a result, electric vehicles have come to an almost complete standstill, and Range Rover is not outside this trend.

A single electric model in 2026
The model that will arrive in 2026 will be the electric version of one of its best-known models, the Range Rover Electric. It will be built on the already familiar MLA platform. This platform offers the possibility of having both a combustion engine drivetrain and an electric drivetrain, so it will not need to introduce a new platform for this electric model.
However, other models that will later join the Range Rover lineup will use a different platform, designed for fully electric models. It is called EMA and will be used on models such as the Land Rover Discovery Sport, the Range Rover “Defender Sport”, the Range Rover Evoque, and the second generation of the Range Rover Velar.
These models based on the new EMA platform will be manufactured at the JLR plant in Merseyside, where the company is investing 500 million pounds sterling to adapt the plant for electric car production. For its part, Jaguar has announced that the first electric model of its new era will arrive in 2026, while Land Rover will delay the launch of its electric models until 2027 at the earliest.
