Ranking 2026: the 6 best city electric SUVs with the best real-world range under 45,000 euros
Technical analysis of the best city electric SUVs under 45,000 euros in Spain, with verified real-world range and prices with the MOVES III Plan applied.
The city electric SUV segment is reaching its maturity in Spain in 2026. The combination of the extended MOVES III Plan, the arrival of more efficient natively electric platforms and an unprecedented price war has brought models that were around 55,000 euros just two years ago below the psychological barrier of 45,000 euros. At Highmotor we have driven, measured and cross-checked real consumption data —not optimistic WLTP homologations— to build an objective ranking based on real-world range, kWh/100 km efficiency, DC charging power and cost per kilometre of range.
How we built the ranking: methodology and criteria
For this 2026 ranking we have ruled out any model that is not actually available at Spanish dealerships at the closing date of this edition. Real-world range data come from mixed tests (60% urban, 40% interurban) at temperatures between 8°C and 22°C, which penalises WLTP figures slightly, by around 15-20%. The starting price includes the MOVES III Plan deduction (7,000 € with scrappage) and current brand promotions.
The weighted criteria are: real-world range (30%), kWh/100 km efficiency (25%), DC charging power (20%), final price (15%) and standard equipment (10%).
Peugeot e-2008 GT — from 36,810 €
The French lion has refined its electric SUV-B with a 54 kWh usable battery and a 156 CV motor. In real conditions it delivers around 398 km, with an average consumption of 15.6 kWh/100 km. Its 100 kW DC charging is modest but sufficient for the urban use it is designed for.
| Power kW | Power CV | Top speed | Real-world range | Consumption | Label | Fuel |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 115 kW | 156 CV | 150 km/h | 398 km | 15.6 kWh/100 km | ZERO | Electric |

Jeep Avenger Electric Summit — from 37,317 €
The Avenger shares its platform with the e-2008 but offers a more off-road, aspirational approach. With 54 kWh and 156 CV, we measured a real-world range of 335 km. Its main asset is price: with MOVES III applied it falls below 33,000 €, making it one of the most balanced cheap electric SUVs in Spain.

Highmotor verdict
The Volvo EX30 takes the gold for its combination of real-world range, fast charging and refinement. The Hyundai Kona Electric is the most rational option, while the Jeep Avenger and the BYD Atto 3 lead the price battle. The 2026 comparison of compact electric SUVs shows that the segment’s maturity no longer forces a choice between price and performance.
