XPENG begins commercialisation of the X9 MPV in seven European markets
With the X9, XPENG brings to Europe a spacious, technology-rich and efficient electric MPV aimed at families seeking premium performance and long range.
XPENG’s flagship electric MPV, the X9, is already on sale in seven European countries, and first customer deliveries have already begun in some of them. These countries are: Germany, Finland, Norway, Iceland, Croatia, Slovenia and Hungary. In the first of these, the model has been available since May and deliveries will begin this same month. Likewise, in Norway some lucky customers already have this luxurious MPV from the Chinese manufacturer.
The X9 has been on sale in the Chinese market since autumn 2023, as the brand’s seventh model and the first of the X series. This premium MPV stands out for its advanced 800-volt platform, 5C ultra-fast charging technology and the integration of a steerable rear axle, key elements in the company’s international expansion strategy.

Range of the premium X9 MPV available in the European market
In Europe, XPENG sells three versions of its X9 MPV. The entry-level X9 FWD Standard Range, with front-wheel drive and standard range, features a 94.8 kWh LFP battery pack that allows it to cover up to 535 km under the WLTP homologation cycle. Its single motor delivers a maximum output of 235 kW. This version starts at 77,600 euros.
One step up is the X9 FWD Long Range, with the same 235 kW motor on the front axle, but with a higher-capacity NMC battery pack of up to 110 kWh. This version promises a WLTP range of up to 615 km. Its price starts at 81,600 euros.
Finally, at the top of the range, the X9 AWD Performance keeps the same 110 kWh NMC battery pack as the lower version, but adds a second motor on the rear axle that raises combined output to 370 kW, providing all-wheel drive. The WLTP range of this version stands at 580 km. All of this from 86,600 euros.

One of the most notable features of the X9 MPV is its charging power, since it is capable of peaks of up to 542 kW in versions equipped with the 110 kWh NMC battery pack. In this way, it is possible to increase the state of charge from 10 to 80 per cent in just 12 minutes, or from 20 to 80 per cent in 10 minutes, provided a sufficiently powerful DC charging point is used. In reality, most charging points currently available in Europe are limited to 400 kW, although systems such as the Alpitronic HYC1000 support higher powers.
On the other hand, when charging with alternating current using a 11 kW domestic wallbox, the X9 is able to complete a charge starting from 5 per cent in about 11 hours.
The XPENG X9 plays in a different league
One of the X9’s standout points is its manoeuvrability. Its turning circle of just 10.8 metres is comparable to that of a compact car. It incorporates advanced driver-assistance systems such as intelligent parking with artificial intelligence, a 360º camera and a transparent chassis, which greatly simplify manoeuvres in tight spaces.

As standard it includes 20-inch wheels, a powerful 27-speaker sound system, intelligent navigation, a heat pump and multi-zone climate control with air purification. Inside, it offers a digital instrument cluster, a 17.3-inch central screen, a 21-inch head-up display and a large 21.4-inch Ultra-3K entertainment screen on the ceiling for rear passengers.
XPENG’s European expansion coincides with the strong growth in exports from the Chinese manufacturer. In May it recorded a record 6,503 vehicles shipped outside China, 80.4 per cent more than the same month the previous year, representing 20.2 per cent of its total deliveries.
