Shelby F-150 Super Snake: the American pick-up gets 750 hp in its most aggressive version

Shelby has unveiled the F-150 Super Snake, a special version of the famous Ford (Raptor) pick-up inspired by the Mustang Super Snake.

The new Shelby pick-up features a large air intake on the bonnet and a redesigned front bumper. This model also incorporates a series of silver-coloured inserts in the front grille and extended side skirts.

The 22-inch chrome wheels, the dual-outlet exhaust system and the signature white stripes running the length of the vehicle (a hallmark of Shelby models) complete the set of exterior elements that set the Shelby F-150 Super Snake apart from the standard Ford Raptor.

Inside, the F-150 Super Snake receives modest revisions, including embroidered armrests and the Shelby emblem, a snake, on the centre console. Other cabin changes include exclusive-design floor mats and a plaque showing the vehicle’s production number on the dashboard. It should be remembered that this is a special edition, so its production will be limited to a specific number of units; 150 units to be exact.

Under the bonnet of this Shelby F-150 Super Snake you will find the same 5-litre V8 engine fitted to the standard Ford Raptor, although in this case it receives a series of adjustments that increase its performance. These improvements include a new supercharger, a high-performance injection system and new fuel injectors.

Thanks to these modifications, the output of the F-150’s V8 powerplant rises from 385 CV to 750 CV. We do not yet know the acceleration this version of the American pick-up will offer, although we do know it can be bought with four-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive.

The Shelby F-150 Super Snake will cost $96,680 (around €87,000), slightly more than the Shelby F-150 Snake presented a few months ago Shelby F-150 Snake, and with 50 CV more power.
